Wild-picking walk in Assen, March 20
Walk with us and learn about local culinary and medicinal plants in the wild. The goal of the walk is for you to go home afterwards and identify edible wild plants in your own environment. During the walk we will taste all kinds of things, but out of respect for nature we will not "harvest". The main focus will be on regular and common "weeds. Rare and unusual plants will be left alone.
After the walk you will receive a document with a selection of this season's edible plants, recipes, book tips and other inspiration.
Because there is frequent stopping, the walk totals between 1.5 and 3 km.
The walk is suitable for beginning wildlife pickers and anyone who wants to learn more about wildlife picking in practice. Also for children (accompanied by parents) the wild picking walk is a lot of fun.

The Passion will take place in Dwingeloo in the municipality of Westerveld on Maundy Thursday, April 2, 2026. It is the first time for the musical Easter narrative in a small village and in the province of Drenthe. After years in big cities, Dwingeloo shows that also a smaller village can be a big stage. Thus The Passion joins the tradition in which the centuries-old Easter story is told time and again worldwide, this time from the heart of Drenthe.
Yunas Aktas in Hoogeveen, April 3
Yunus Aktaş won all the prizes at the Cameretten Festival in 2022 and has been going fast ever since. With his dry humor, understated tone and impeccable timing, he effortlessly conquers ever-larger audiences.
Why the title Never mind?
Simple: because Yunus believes that the title of a show does not matter.
So what kind of show is it?
Yunus with the expectations of his audience. No frills, no frills, just stand-up as it is meant to be: a microphone, a bar stool and a glass of water.
A pure, sharp and comical evening. Stand-up at its best.
Easter fire Ruinerwold, April 5
The lighting of Easter fires is a tradition that has occurred throughout Europe for centuries. Originally, it is believed, the tradition of Easter fires comes from the time of the Germanic people. The fires were lit to bring an offering to the god Ostara. The fire symbolized fertility and a new beginning.
We are therefore pleased as a museum to be able to organize and maintain such an old custom. In the back of our neighbor's land we hope to make a nice hump again. For this we do need unpainted wood and pruning material. Please help us with this by bringing your branches to us. This can 3 Saturdays, prior to Easter, always between 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00. For the organization we do ask 5 euros for a small cart and 10 euros for a large cart.
