In short The Strong Will is set behind the scenes of a theater company centered around William Shakespeare. Money, power and ambition determine who succeeds. Furthermore, you only have to meet one condition: you must be a man. The young talented Kate Fletcher does not settle for that. Disguised as a man, she captures a spot as a playwright. The company rehearses a play she wrote and nothing seems to stand in the way of success. Until a wealthy widow and backer of the company falls head over heels in love with Kate, disguised as a man.
